Mario Lemieux retires from hockey

Mario Lemieux, the owner and captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins announced his retirement as a player Tuesday afternoon, ending a legendary career that saw him post glittering offensive numbers that thrilled a generation of hockey fans.

I’m gonna miss the big ole french canadian guy. I was at his last game on December 16th vs Buffalo and if only I knew then that was it… an assist with Crosby, to be his last ever point. Good luck Mario and when we open that new arena in Pittsburgh I’m sure that you’ll be back for at least one more lap around the ice.
