By Dave Molinari, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Penguins owner Mario Lemieux said yesterday that he and his partners have been approached by “a few groups” interested in purchasing the franchise and that he plans to begin negotiating with them.
Not that this should really come as a shock to anyone that’s followed the story of the Penguins, City of Pittsburgh and the slots license. This is basically a formallity to get things moving should the city not get the new arena.
For all of those yinzers who said Mario was just blowing smoke up our asses so he could get what he wants… well… How much do you have to pitch in to save this team? Thanks for waiting and bickering. We’ll have your spot reserved so you can wave the Mayflower trucks goodbye to Kansas City.
Anyone in KC looking for a webguy 🙂
