Walmart’s policy is rather annoying, but merely they’re protecting themselves from getting in legal trouble. It is wrong of Walmart to not check negatives, or to say a time stamp means copyright.

But all photos do have copyright; possibly you did have the rights to reprint those images to Walmart, but all photos have copyright from creation to the photographer, and the copyright lasts until the photograhper is dead… plus 90 years (70 in some parts).

You could have just had the prints and wanted to reprint, which they coudn’t legally let you do without a print acknowledgement (like a mini statement from the photog), unless you actually had the negatives. Which you did, and thus provided, which they were wrong in not checking.

What’s the most annoying thing is when Walmart demands this of totally unprofessional photos.

It’s so frustrating! In addition to the story I blogged about, I have had my OWN photos questioned. And believe me – I am not THAT good a photographer!

Horrible song….and being a life long resident of Erie and a avid traveler, I couldn’t willingly choose another city of Erie.

I’ve been to the biggest and furthest, all up scale and High class, Erie’s got the best mix of all.

No one would consider Erie a real city without the occasional bum fights in the alley’s between office buildings Downtown huh?!

LOL.

First, I was spawned in this water front town and ’bout soon as I grew me some legs, I left. Came back for a while and went to the College on the hill- not the best, not the worst, just the ‘hurst (which the staff will be more than happy to tell you really means “Hill” – very crafty those Nuns). So thanks for the shout out to my alma matar, and also nice comments about the zoo. Congrats for being able to tell the two apart. I find it amazing that the one observation we share is that it is cheap to drink in Erie, PA. As well it should be, as there is nothing else much worth doing – save the crack whores on the street called Parade.

WOW!!! You haven’t been on here in some time!! Anyhoo…Great call on the Railbender. I was out looking for a Railbender logo for my desktop and I stumbled across your site and thought I’d drop a line. When I’m not drinking anything from Stone or Victory, my session beer used to be good ‘ol Iron pounders but hell, the Railbender tastes better, is cheaper and has more kick!! I liked it so much I got myself a 1/2 keg, which I happen to be sippin’ on right now! I must say that I was totally surprised how much better it is on draft. I know that the majority of beer is better out of a keg but the Railbender is WAAAAAAYYYY better on tap. If you’re up near Moon Twp, drop me a line and we’ll set it up so you can swing by for a 23oz. draft!!

How far are we from the day when McDonalds – or any restaurant in particular, for that matter – is told to start refusing service to those who are deemed by some standard or another to be too large for their own good?

Is that any different than the crux behind this attempted ordinance? Me thinks not. I’m not even a smoker, and I hope like hell that every appeals court along the way shoots this thing full of more holes than a piece of Romaine swiss cheese.
